School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Red Bluff, California
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in a supportive, collaborative school environment. This full-time contract role offers 35 hours per week, following a student-friendly schedule from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the chance to work throughout the full academic year beginning August 5th or 6th.
As an SLPA, you’ll play a key role in the educational journey of K-12 students, working alongside a virtual SLP. The position is itinerant, allowing you to support a variety of student populations, including TK-4 students with extensive needs, TK-8 Regional Deaf and Hard of Hearing groups, State Preschool, and elementary students across TK-8. You’ll help deliver meaningful services and foster communication skills in every learner you support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active SLPA license in California
- Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Solid understanding of speech-language interventions for diverse populations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, SLPs (onsite/virtual), families, and support staff
- Organization and flexibility to manage an itinerant, multi-site caseload
- Comfort supporting students in virtual and in-person modalities
- Commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow treatment plans prepared by a supervising SLP to provide individual and small group therapy
- Collect data and document student progress
- Support communication strategies and learning goals in classrooms
- Assist with screenings, assessments, and planning as needed
- Maintain detailed, accurate records and assist with compliance requirements
- Communicate with staff, students, and families in a professional manner
