School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant | Los Molinos, California
Exciting opportunity awaits for a passionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) seeking a fulfilling contract position in a dynamic K-12 school environment. In this full-time role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting diverse student needs across multiple age groups and specialized programs. Your workday aligns with the student schedule from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, ensuring optimal work–life balance while making a difference throughout the entire school year.
As an itinerant SLPA, you’ll collaborate closely with a virtual Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver services to TK-4 students with extensive needs, TK-8 students in Regional Deaf/Hard of Hearing programs, State Preschool students, and TK-8 elementary learners. Your skills and compassion will support their growth in communication, social skills, and academic potential.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid SLPA licensure for the state or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Background in working with pediatric populations, ideally within school or educational settings
- Comfort providing support across multiple schools/classrooms as part of an itinerant team
- Experience or interest in working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, as well as those with extensive communication needs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially in partnerships with remote supervisors
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Implementing speech-language therapy activities under the supervision of a virtual SLP
- Supporting both individual and small group sessions across multiple school sites and programs
- Documenting student progress and assisting with data collection
- Adapting activities and materials to various student needs and program requirements
- Assisting in the development of a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students
