School Speech Therapy Assistant | Quincy, Massachusetts
If you have a passion for supporting students’ communication and language development, consider this exciting opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) starting in March and continuing through the end of the school year. This contract position, located in the Quincy, MA area, invites experienced SLPAs or SLPs interested in growing their expertise within a supportive school environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold current SLPA licensure or valid SLP credentials
- School-based experience preferred, especially working with K-12 students
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and supervisors
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs), data collection, and progress monitoring
- Adaptable, professional, and energetic approach to daily interactions with students
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload and adjust to various learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in achieving their individual language and communication goals
- Deliver services as directed by supervising SLPs and consistent with student IEPs
- Assist with speech-language screenings and therapy sessions, both in groups and one-on-one
- Document student progress, maintain records, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Communicate regularly with supervising SLP, teachers, and families
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
