As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by working with students who have a range of communication needs, including those requiring extensive support and those using AAC devices.
Candidates must bring SLPA certification valid in California for at least a year and demonstrate previous experience within a school district setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data collection and progress monitoring, and will be comfortable supporting students with significant needs. Spanish bilingual skills are valued, but not a requirement.
What You’ll Bring:
- Current California SLPA certification (minimum one year)
- Prior experience in a school district environment
- Skilled in supporting students who have extensive support needs
- Track record of accurate data collection and progress monitoring for student goals
- AAC device experience is highly desirable
- Spanish bilingual skills preferred, though not required
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to elementary students
- Collaborate closely with SLPs, teachers, and support staff
- Work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
- Serve a caseload size yet to be determined, focused exclusively on the elementary age group
- Document student progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with school guidelines
