Speech Language Pathologists Assistant Job in Washington K-12
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a K–12 school setting. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assist in implementing therapy plans and supporting students with speech, language, and communication needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist the supervising SLP with implementing speech and language therapy programs for K–12 students
- Provide direct therapy services as directed by the supervising SLP
- Support students with articulation, fluency, voice, language, and social communication goals
- Prepare therapy materials and classroom support resources
- Document student participation and progress during therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate records and follow district and state guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student communication development
- Assist with screenings and other support activities as assigned by the supervising SLP
- Promote positive student behavior, structure, and discipline during therapy sessions
- Encourage student engagement, communication confidence, and self-discipline
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field
- Active SLPA license/certification as required by the state
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively with students across K–12 grade levels
Supervision
The SLPA will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in accordance with state regulations and district policies.

Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $48.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
