Step into an impactful role supporting students ages 5-22 with varying developmental and intellectual disabilities in a dynamic school-based setting near Woonsocket, RI. You’ll be instrumental in helping students develop communication skills while collaborating closely with educators and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services, both individual and group, to a full-time caseload of 18-22 students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Provide actionable feedback to families, teachers, and other professionals about student progress
- Consult and collaborate with behavior specialists to coordinate care, as all students participate in behavior intervention programs
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation of evaluations, sessions, and related activities
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and professional development, staying current on best practices for students with developmental and intellectual disabilities
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that empowers students to achieve communication goals
Qualifications:
- Active Rhode Island Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility
- Experience in educational settings and/or with students requiring behavioral interventions preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Position Details:
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–3:00 pm
- 37.5 hours per week, servicing students from 5–22 years old
- Immediate start date available
