Speech Language Pathologist in Stafford, VA
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist serving students across all grade levels in the greater Washington, DC area, just 45 minutes south of the nation's capital. This full-time, on-site position spans a comprehensive 185-day school year, running from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027. Assignments are available at multiple schools, with caseloads encompassing elementary, middle, and high school students—offering a chance to make a broad impact within a dynamic educational environment.
Applicants must bring strong expertise in school-based speech-language pathology services and demonstrate adaptability in managing various age groups and learning needs. This role requires a hands-on presence at the school; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available. You’ll work collaboratively with educators and administrators to support communication, language development, and academic achievement for all assigned students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an active Virginia SLP license
- Experience delivering speech and language services in K-12 settings
- Comfort with diverse caseloads and flexible assignments
- Able to fulfill full-time, onsite commitment throughout the contract
- Initiate VA Dept. of Social Services background check and TB test as soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students, addressing a variety of needs
- Assess, diagnose, and document communication disorders
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all documentation requirements
