School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Waterford, Michigan
Support young learners in their communication development by providing impactful speech-language services in a collaborative school setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Speech Language Pathologist with a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering student growth and communication skills. This part-time role allows you to dedicate one day per week to supporting students through the end of December 2026.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to early childhood students in an educational environment
- Assess individual communication needs and develop tailored intervention plans
- Work closely with classroom teachers, staff, and families to support speech, language, and social development
- Maintain thorough records of student progress and document services in accordance with program and district requirements
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights as part of the school-based support team
- Ensure all services align with student IEPs and best practices for early intervention
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license and current certification
- Clinical Certificate of Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working in early childhood settings, especially with children ages 3–5, is valued
- Strong collaborative skills for effective partnership with families and school teams
- Knowledge of best practices in assessment and therapy for preschool-age children
