Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Middletown, Delaware
Step into a dynamic school-based role supporting students in grades 8-12 for the 2026-2027 academic year. This part-time, contract opportunity involves working 1-3 days per week, determined by student enrollment, and runs from approximately late August through mid-June. You’ll play an essential role in conducting speech-language evaluations, reviewing 60-day IEPs, and monitoring student benchmarks—ensuring every learner in your care receives individualized support tailored to their needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Delaware
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligible Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates encouraged to apply
- DE educator certification required
- Previous experience in school-based settings, especially handling evaluations, writing reports, and attending IEP meetings
- Background providing pediatric and adolescent speech-language services
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in collaborative educational environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive speech-language assessments and write clear, actionable evaluation reports
- Participate actively in 60-day IEP reviews and other relevant meetings with educational staff and families
- Develop, implement, and update student benchmarks aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and parents to ensure effective support for each student
- Manage caseload documentation while adhering to district and state compliance standards
