Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Van Nuys, CA
Embark on an exciting opportunity serving K-8 students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the vibrant Valencia area, conveniently located near Van Nuys, CA. This contract role runs for the full 2026-2027 school year, with full-time schedules of 7.5 hours per day beginning in August. You’ll play a pivotal part in helping students reach their communication goals within a dynamic and supportive school environment.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current California SLP, SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or SLPA license or eligibility
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Comfortable working with K-8 students presenting a variety of communication needs
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and other support staff
- Proficiency in delivering direct and consultative speech-language services—experience with teletherapy a plus
- Ability to maintain thorough documentation and case management records in compliance with school and state requirements
- A positive, flexible approach—ready to adapt to new environments and team cultures
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services according to IEP goals for a diverse K-8 caseload
- Assess students’ speech, language, and communication skills using both formal and informal measures
- Develop and implement intervention plans targeting each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student progress
- Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student plans and progress discussions
- Engage in both onsite and potential teletherapy sessions, maximizing student access to services
