Step into an impactful role supporting preschool-aged learners as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist in a vibrant educational setting near Tacoma, WA. This opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with a start date of August 31st, 2026 and concluding on June 15th, 2027. Your schedule will offer the consistency of 35-37.5 hours per week across five days, enabling you to foster meaningful connections and growth with your caseload. Professionals with SLPA supervision experience are welcome.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid Washington State SLP license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred, though CFYs may be considered
- School-based and/or early childhood experience, especially with preschool populations
- Strong collaboration skills and passion for supporting student communication needs
- Ability to supervise and work alongside SLPAs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders for preschool students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide engaging therapy sessions tailored to each child’s unique needs
- Document progress, maintain detailed records, and complete timely reports
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, families, and related service providers
- Supervise and guide SLPAs working with your caseload
