School Speech Language Pathologist - Staten Island, New York

Step into a dynamic high school environment as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist, supporting students aged 14–21 with diverse communication needs. The caseload features students diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other genetic conditions, many of whom are non-verbal and benefit from AAC devices and alternative communicative strategies.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Valid SLP license or eligibility to practice in New York
- Experience or strong interest in serving students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Familiarity with AAC devices and technology-based communication supports
- Team-oriented mindset, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy, individually and in small groups, to high school students
- Evaluate, select, and implement AAC and alternative communication methods tailored to each student
- Work collaboratively with special education staff, classroom teachers, and related service professionals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of communication goals and progress monitoring
- Provide training and support for staff and families in communication strategies and AAC use
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records as required
