School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Flushing, New York

This full-time contract opportunity allows you to work closely with an inspiring and diverse population, including students with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other genetic disorders. Many students are non-verbal and depend on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, giving you the chance to apply specialized skillsets and share essential communication strategies.

Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current CCC-SLP certification
- Active state licensure to practice as an SLP
- Previous experience supporting high school students or young adults preferred
- Strong background in working with students utilizing AAC devices
- Comfort with diverse and complex communication needs
- Collaborative approach to working with educators, therapists, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students in both individual and group settings
- Conduct assessments and help develop or contribute to IEPs
- Implement and adapt AAC devices and strategies according to student needs
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, aides, and professional staff
- Offer guidance and support to families regarding communication strategies
- Document progress and update communication goals as needed
