Position Highlights:
- Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Caseload includes students with significant communication needs and complex disorders
- High school environment that fosters collaboration and ongoing professional development
- Utilize and adapt AAC systems to facilitate students’ communication goals
- Collaborate with other therapists, educators, and support staff to develop and implement effective IEPs
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in New York
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA required
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Knowledge and experience with AAC devices strongly desired
- Strong skills in assessment, direct therapy, and documentation
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to supporting both students and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy for students with a range of communication disorders
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language and communication assessments
- Implement and monitor AAC device use in daily classroom activities
- Document student progress and update IEPs as needed
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic student support
