Qualifications and Credentials
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active California Speech-Language Pathology License
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential or eligibility to obtain
- Ability to secure fingerprint clearance and complete district onboarding requirements
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Previous school-based experience is a plus, but not required
- Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads and engage with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services in line with IEP goals
- Conduct thorough assessments in speech, language, voice, fluency, and pragmatics
- Complete evaluations, re-evaluations, and detailed written reports
- Develop, update, and monitor IEP goals, presenting updates at meetings
- Collaborate with educators, specialists, families, and other providers to support holistic student success
- Maintain accurate documentation, including service logs and Medicaid billing (where applicable)
- Consult on effective classroom accommodations and communication strategies
- Work with students representing a variety of needs, such as Autism, SLI, SLD, ID, and OHI
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and educational planning
- Implement AAC systems as appropriate to support student communication
