Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity working across two high schools and one elementary school near Springfield, OR, providing dedicated support to students as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This position runs from September 8, 2026, through June 17, 2027, with full-time hours set at 40 per week. Spend half your time at Westmoreland Campus, serving primarily special education students, and the other half at Lane Schools, where socialization support is a key focus.
You’ll work in collaboration with a committed network of professionals, including a team of 12 SLPs who provide monthly and virtual guidance. While this role allows for autonomous practice, you’ll also benefit from in-person assistance from special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active SLP-CCC certification and eligibility for school-based practice
- Previous school-based SLP or clinical experience
- Interest or background in supporting life skills programming for students with diverse needs
- Preferred but not required: Experience with safe feeding/swallowing techniques and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Training provided if needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 33 students, supporting their communication and feeding/swallowing needs
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and contribute to student team meetings
- Provide therapeutic interventions tailored to enhance speech, language, and communication abilities
- Collaborate closely with special education staff, paraprofessionals, and other district personnel
