Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in San Jose, CA
Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary and middle school students in a dynamic educational setting just outside San Jose, CA. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) experienced in working with pediatric populations. You’ll join a collaborative special education team committed to meeting students’ speech and language needs throughout the academic year.
Your primary responsibilities will include managing a caseload averaging 55 students, providing assessment and intervention services, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams. In addition, you’ll deliver one Home & Hospital service per week, helping to ensure continuity of care for students who require specialized support beyond the classroom. The position runs from August 6 to May 27, aligning with the academic year.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Demonstrated experience with pediatric and school-based caseloads
- Strong organizational skills to balance direct therapy, documentation, and collaboration
- Familiarity with assessment tools, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Commitment to fostering student success and communication growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat speech, language, and communication disorders for elementary and middle school students
- Provide timely documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on communication needs
- Travel to provide one Home & Hospital visit each week
