Speech Language Pathologist in Rochester, NY
Make a meaningful impact this summer as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) supporting middle, high school, and transition-age students with multiple disabilities. This contract opportunity, based near Rochester, NY, offers a rewarding environment where your expertise will enhance students’ communication skills and foster growth in a collaborative setting. You’ll work a consistent 7-hour day from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, from July 9th through August 19th, providing services at a specialized campus.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP-CCC credential
- Previous experience working with students with multiple or significant disabilities
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic intervention skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services to middle school, high school, and transition students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Conduct assessments, progress monitoring, and documentation in line with school and regulatory requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, sharing observations and partnering with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt communication strategies to best serve students with a variety of needs
- Proactively engage families, caregivers, and staff to support generalization of skills
- Create a safe, supportive, and engaging therapy environment
