School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Palm Desert, California
Take your speech-language pathology expertise to beautiful Southern California for an engaging, full-time opportunity in a vibrant school setting. Serve PreK students in a supportive environment with access to diverse needs, including mild to moderate and some severe cases, while utilizing your skills with AAC devices. This is a contract assignment for the 2026-2027 academic year, with the expectation of committing to at least one full-year placement. Candidates must be available for onsite work, as remote positions are not currently being considered.
Ideal candidates will bring a collaborative spirit and a passion for student success. Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply, and those who speak Spanish are especially valued. Prior experience with California educational systems, including SEIS or Medicaid (Paradigm), is a plus. This role may involve itinerant assignments.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current or pending California SLP license
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship status
- Certificate of Clearance (COC) or ability to obtain
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred, though monolingual candidates considered
- Experience with school-based populations; prior SEIS or Medicaid (Paradigm) experience preferred
- Comfortable with PreK caseloads and working with mild-moderate to some severe needs
- Willingness to travel within the district if assigned to multiple sites
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to PreK students
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and maintain documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff
- Support students using AAC as appropriate
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams within the school system
