School Speech Language Pathologist - Orland Park, Illinois
Step into an engaging contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged students in a vibrant school community near Orland Park, IL. This maternity leave position spans from October 19, 2026, to January 11, 2027. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC), you’ll work closely with 2nd through 5th graders, making a meaningful difference in the lives of approximately 28-30 students each week.
Your daily hours will be 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, totaling 33.75 hours weekly. This manageable schedule allows you to focus on student support while maintaining work-life balance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred, particularly with elementary age groups
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues, students, and families
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement effective interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Active state licensure or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and therapy for students in 2nd to 5th grades
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student success
- Maintain documentation adhering to state and district requirements
- Support students’ social, academic, and communication progress during the maternity leave period
