School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Cicero, Illinois
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) during a maternity leave assignment. This contract position is available from October 19, 2026, through January 11, 2027, providing valuable services to 2nd through 5th graders in a vibrant school setting. You'll work closely with a caseload of approximately 28-30 students, playing an essential role in their communication development.
Key Qualifications:
- Current license or certification as SLP-CCC
- Experience with school-aged children, especially elementary levels
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt therapy methods to diverse learners
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments for students
- Develop and deliver targeted therapy sessions, individually or in small groups
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
- Maintain timely documentation, including progress tracking, session notes, and IEP updates
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as required
- Support a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students served
This position offers a stable schedule, Monday through Friday, with hours from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch), totaling 6.75 working hours per day and 33.75 hours weekly.
