School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Chicago, Illinois
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving elementary students as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a maternity leave assignment. This role is ideal for professionals with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and experience in educational settings, eager to work with students in 2nd through 5th grades. Assignment Details:
- Maternity leave coverage from October 19, 2026, to January 11, 2027
- Elementary caseload (grades 2-5)
- Manage a caseload of approximately 28-30 students
- Consistent weekday schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–3:15 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- 6.75 hours per workday, totaling 33.75 hours per week
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP licensure in Illinois
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) required
- Prior experience working in school settings, especially elementary grade levels, strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop tailored treatment plans for students with speech and language needs
- Deliver direct therapy services in both group and individual sessions
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and legal standards
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support students’ progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
