Speech Language Pathologist in Medical Lake, WA
Make a meaningful impact by supporting the communication needs of students in a dynamic elementary school environment. This contract opportunity focuses on providing speech-language pathology services to a caseload of approximately 45 students ranging from Pre-K through 5th grade, all situated within one welcoming school site.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- SLP-CCC certification preferred, but not required.
- Eligible for state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience or familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices is a plus.
- Strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, as well as communicate effectively with families and staff.
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience encouraged, but not essential.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough speech and language evaluations for students Pre-K to 5th grade.
- Write and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), tailoring goals to each student’s unique strengths and needs.
- Implement a range of SLP services, addressing areas such as articulation and language development.
- Provide expertise and support in best practices for communication strategies, including the use of AAC devices when appropriate.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to maximize student success.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a nurturing school community.
