School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Providence, Rhode Island
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle and high school students with communication and language needs. This full-time, in-person position offers the chance to collaborate across grade levels, providing speech and language services to a diverse caseload of about 36 students in a vibrant educational setting near Providence, RI.
Your week will be dynamic and engaging, with dedicated time at both the high school and middle school: Mondays and Thursdays spent at the high school, Tuesdays and Fridays at the middle school, and Wednesdays shared between both campuses. You’ll provide support in all classrooms except for those focused on behavioral needs, making a direct impact on student progress and participation from now through early June 2027. Hours are 7:40 am to 2:15 pm, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates encouraged to apply
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a caseload across multiple grade levels
- Passion for supporting student achievement and growth
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments, therapy, and consultations for approximately 36 students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, and families
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Track progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and school-based team discussions
