Position Details
- Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Location: Madison Heights, MI
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM
- Contract Length: ASAP - June 7, 2027
Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language evaluations, assessments, and therapy services.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and services.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, administrators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and families.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
- Support students with complex communication needs through evidence-based interventions.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Foster communication, social interaction, and functional language development.
Caseload Information
This position is within a center-based special education program serving students throughout Oakland County.
Student Population
- Middle School through Age 26
Students with:
- Cognitive Impairments (CI)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Significant developmental disabilities
- High behavioral needs

Requirements
- Active Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with SB (Speech and Language Impairment) Endorsement
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or appropriate endorsement
- Experience working with developmentally disabled students preferred
- Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), cognitive impairments, or behavioral challenges is highly desirable
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
