Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Long Beach, California
An exciting opportunity awaits for a passionate and skilled occupational therapy professional eager to make a difference with K-12 students in the Los Angeles area. This contract position, starting within the next two weeks, offers a full-time schedule with the potential for renewal into the upcoming school year. You’ll work with a supportive academic community that values the impact therapy professionals have on students’ development and success.
As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide services across 1-4 school sites (average 1-2 per week), Monday through Friday, 8 hours daily. Your role will be essential in helping students access learning and build life skills in a nurturing environment. Virtual interviews with leadership ensure a smooth and welcoming introduction process.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in school-based settings, pediatrics, or healthcare environments is preferred
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in California
- Familiarity with IEPs, assessments, and creating intervention plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working with K-12 populations
- Candidates must hold full OT credentials—SLPA or COTA are not considered for this position
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for students across multiple school sites
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services as indicated in IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Document progress and maintain accurate records
- Participate in IEP meetings as required
- Adapt therapy plans and materials to diverse student needs
