Speech and Language Pathologist - Lakewood, WA
Exciting opportunity available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year! This full-time, onsite position provides the chance to work with a diverse student population, supporting their communication and academic success throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and providing direct speech and language therapy services to students. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, families, and other specialized staff, helping students reach their fullest potential in both academic and social settings. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, to June 15, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 35-37.5 hours split over five days each week.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited program
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Prior experience in a school setting and knowledge of special education procedures preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt strategies to meet each student’s unique needs
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and working collaboratively with school teams
Principal Duties:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
- Develop treatment plans and set goals for students
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions
- Provide consultative support and collaborate with teachers and staff
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
