Speech Language Pathologist in Kent, WA
Shape the future for young learners as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity is located near Kent, WA, and focuses on early childhood populations (birth to 5 years old) in an engaging, supportive educational environment. As a valued member of a collaborative team, you’ll provide critical speech and language services across three buildings, addressing the needs laid out in IEPs and IFSPs for approximately 45 students. Plus, you’ll work alongside an SLPA for additional support, making a real impact on each child’s development.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology with current ASHA CCC
- Washington state licensure or eligibility
- Experience supporting early childhood populations, ideally ages 0-5
- Previous work with Native American communities is a plus
- Familiarity with writing and implementing IEPs and IFSPs
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders for students ages birth to 5
- Develop and implement individualized education and service plans (IEPs and IFSPs)
- Work closely with teachers, families, and a dedicated SLPA to deliver quality interventions
- Serve students at three educational buildings within a supportive and culturally rich community
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation and participate in required meetings
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet the needs of a diverse student body
This is a 12-month, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, onsite only, within a culturally supportive setting. Please note: candidates may need to participate in a BIE adjudication process, which could delay the start date by up to one week.
