Required Qualifications:
- Holds a current North Carolina State License and Educator Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC).
- Significant experience with AAC/Speech Generating Devices, particularly for students who are nonverbal or minimally verbal.
- Demonstrated expertise supporting students with moderate to severe medical or developmental needs.
- For the bilingual assignment: Full professional fluency in both Spanish and English.
- SLP-CFYs and SLPAs unfortunately cannot be considered for these positions due to supervision restrictions.
- Previous experience in an educational or school-based setting highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations, develop and implement IEPs, and provide support primarily through consultation for high school students with complex communication needs.
- Work closely alongside a collaborative, compassionate SLP in a high school specializing in serving students with severe disabilities, focusing particularly on effective AAC support.
- Potential to join elementary or bilingual positions as placements are confirmed and based on availability and candidate preference.
- Provide consultation, student and staff training, and ongoing support for integrating AAC effectively within educational environments.
- Case management across a manageable caseload with the opportunity to tailor hours (part-time or potentially combine for a full-time schedule).
