Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Valid North Carolina state license and Educator Certification
- Proven expertise with a variety of AAC and Speech Generating Devices
- Experience working with nonverbal or minimally verbal students, especially those with moderate to severe disabilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively alongside other school-based SLPs
- SLP-CFYs and SLPAs are not eligible for this assignment
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, consultation, and intervention for high school students on support plans—majority indirect therapy
- Deliver specialized AAC support, device programming, and implementation in collaboration with the educational team
- Work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff to develop and monitor effective communication strategies
- Accurately document services and student progress in accordance with district standards
- Potential to combine hours with other school assignments for those seeking more than 1-2 days per week
