Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Eligible for or currently hold a North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA) license
- Background in pediatric, school-based SLP services—including experience with PreK, preschool, and elementary populations
- Considerable knowledge of childhood speech and hearing development, communication disorders, and effective treatment strategies
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing school speech-language programs
- Ability to coordinate services with school staff and community resources, and maintain accurate student records
- Demonstrated skill in building positive professional relationships
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide both formal and informal information regarding speech, language, and hearing programs to parents, teachers, and school staff
- Maintain detailed program records and complete required reporting
- Consult regularly with educational teams, offering guidance and support as needed
- Adjust intervention strategies in response to student performance data
- Conduct thorough screenings and assessments, gathering diagnostic data to drive case recommendations
- Deliver evidence-based interventions for individual students and small groups
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support students with speech-language disorders
- Analyze and report on the impact of SLP services on student achievement
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, and sit for extended periods, and lift up to 15 pounds routinely (occasionally up to 30 pounds)
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to multiple school sites as needed
- Maintain visual, auditory, and physical oversight of student activities and performance
