Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Eligible for or holding licensure through the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA)
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local guidelines related to school-based speech services
- Considerable knowledge of childhood speech and hearing development and communication disorders
- Ability to coordinate school services with community resources and foster positive relationships
- Experience maintaining accurate student records
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, formal/informal assessments, and gather diagnostic information to identify student needs
- Develop and deliver individual and group evidence-based interventions
- Adjust strategies in response to student progress and performance
- Maintain detailed, timely records and prepare required program reports
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents
- Provide guidance about speech, language, and hearing programs
- Support the overall student learning environment through comprehensive speech-language services
Physical Expectations:
- Ability to stand, sit, walk for extended periods, and lift up to 30 pounds as required
- Capable of monitoring and assisting students physically, visually, and auditorily
- Comfortable driving to multiple school locations
