Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Eligible for or currently hold a North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA) license.
- Extensive knowledge of childhood speech/hearing development, communication disorders, and current best practices.
- Familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local regulations for school speech-language services.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, including Pre-K and elementary school students.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
- Experience coordinating services and maintaining accurate student records.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings as well as formal/informal assessments to determine student needs.
- Analyze assessment results to inform recommendations and intervention strategies.
- Plan and deliver evidence-based speech-language interventions for individual students and groups.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, and prepare required reports.
- Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, and school personnel regarding students’ speech and language needs.
- Adjust interventions by tracking and analyzing student progress.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and district guidelines.
- Monitor and facilitate student safety during school activities and emergency situations.
- Drive to various school sites as required.
This contract role offers a 10-month term aligned with the academic calendar. Candidates must have the ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including supporting student safety during daily routines and emergencies.
