Ideal background and qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Hold, or be eligible to obtain, North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA) licensure
- ASHA CCC or eligible Clinical Fellow Year candidates
- Strong understanding of childhood speech, language, and hearing development
- Knowledge of communication disorders, assessments, and evidence-based treatment strategies
- Excellent communication, record keeping, and consultation abilities
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations in school speech-language pathology
- Comfort guiding and collaborating with parents, educators, and service providers
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive speech, language, and hearing assessments
- Analyze findings to recommend service needs and develop individualized intervention plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions in group and one-on-one settings
- Consult with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student achievement
- Maintain accurate, thorough records and prepare periodic program reports
- Adjust interventions based on ongoing assessment of student progress
- Support emergency preparedness and maintain student safety across school settings
This contract role follows a 10-month academic calendar. You will need to be capable of a range of physical activity, able to travel to multiple school sites, and comfortable working in a dynamic educational environment.
