Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Independence, MO
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged students as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. Located near Independence, MO, this position offers the chance to make a real difference in students’ lives while collaborating with a dedicated support team throughout the academic year, from late August 2026 through May 2027.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology license for Missouri (SLP-CCC required)
- Experience working in school settings, especially with elementary populations
- Understanding of school-based caseload management, including collaboration with SLP-Assistants
- Ability to provide speech therapy services across a diverse range of communicative needs
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Role Overview & Responsibilities:
- Hold case management responsibility for approximately 21 students
- Serve as a direct service provider for up to 76 students, with SLP-A (assistant) support for 2-3 days per week
- Collaborate closely with school staff and a team of SLP professionals, including an in-house SLP who will supervise the SLP-A
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Monitor students’ progress, complete required documentation, and communicate regularly with families and interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development aligned with best practices in school speech therapy
- Onsite presence required for all contract dates; no remote or virtual delivery option
