This full-time assignment spans August through May, totaling 35 hours each week and typically serves elementary-aged learners in the Chattanooga area. School assignments may vary. Candidates will work onsite to deliver speech-language pathology services, collaborating with educators, administrators, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive support. As a valued member of the special services team, you’ll help assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders—directly impacting students’ academic and social growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Current and valid Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Active Department of Education certification as an SLP
- Experience or strong interest in working within school settings
- Positive communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Fingerprinting and background clearances required prior to start
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and caseloads during the school year
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Implement direct therapy and document student progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster educational success
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and administrators
- Maintain confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Attend relevant meetings and professional development as required
