Step into a vital role supporting students’ communication and learning needs in the Chattanooga area as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This contract opportunity begins August 5, 2026, and extends through May 19, 2027, offering a full-time, 35-hour work week. You’ll be assigned to one or more schools within the district, with specific placements and caseloads determined as the new school year approaches. The primary age group traditionally served is elementary-aged students, providing you with the chance to make a lasting impact during their formative years.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology license
- Current Department of Education certification as an SLP
- Previous experience or comfort working in school settings
- Ability to fulfill district credentialing steps, including completing fingerprinting prior to start
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services for students in assigned schools
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with school teams and families
- Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and communication needs
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and contribute to IEP meetings
