Flexibility with school assignments is required, as placements may vary throughout the year.
What you need to succeed in this role:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Current Department of Education (DOE) certification as an SLP
- Eligibility to complete required fingerprinting and all credentialing in a timely manner
- Previous experience in school settings is highly valued
- Adaptability to work with diverse student populations, primarily at the elementary level
- Strong collaborative skills, especially in multidisciplinary educational teams
- Clear communication abilities, both verbal and written
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing speech-language therapy to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conducting screenings, assessments, and regular progress monitoring
- Documenting services and outcomes accurately and in compliance with school and legal standards
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and other specialists to support student success
- Adapting strategies to meet unique needs and facilitate student participation in school environments
- Managing a full-time schedule of approximately 35 hours per week over the course of the academic year (August 5, 2026 through May 19, 2027)
