School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Groton, Connecticut
Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist in a contract opportunity located near Groton, CT. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a passionate educational team to provide direct therapy and develop communication strategies that enhance students’ growth and participation in the classroom.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Active state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, CFY candidates considered
- Prior experience in a school setting is highly valued
- Deep understanding of diverse communication disorders and best-practice intervention methods
- Strong ability to work closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with all regulations
- Maintain detailed records of assessments, progress, and therapy sessions
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to adapt classroom strategies and materials
- Provide training and resources to families and staff to reinforce speech-language goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and related school activities
