School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Fort Pierce, Florida
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving students in vibrant school communities near Fort Pierce, FL. This on-site position supports students from elementary through high school with a focus on Speech-Language Pathology, covering maternity leaves at three distinct campuses—each with its own collaborative environment and specialized caseload.
Assignments include:
- Manatee Academy K-8: Immediate start through January, working with a supportive SLP team serving a diverse K-8 population.
- Palm Pointe K-8: October through January, collaborating with another SLP and engaging with multiple ASD units in a dynamic elementary/middle school setting.
- Ft. Pierce Central High School: September to October 20th, partnering with an on-site SLPA and supporting high school students.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- CCC-SLP certification required
- Active, valid FL SLP licensure
- Prior school-based experience strongly preferred
- Ability to obtain district credentialing (fingerprints), with expedited processing possible through the AHCA Clearinghouse if previously printed
- Adaptability to operate independently and as part of interdisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech and language services in line with students’ IEPs
- Complete appropriate assessments, progress reports, and required documentation
- Consult and collaborate with staff and families to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain confidential and organized records
- Provide guidance or supervision to assistant staff where applicable
