Speech Language Pathologist in Eugene, OR
Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting students across two high schools and one elementary school in the Eugene, OR area. You'll work with life skills programming, offering essential speech-language pathology services to a caseload of around 33 students. Your week will be split between two campuses: Westmoreland, known for its support of special education students, and Lane, which focuses on facilitating socialization. This role gives you the autonomy of working independently onsite, with consistent virtual and in-person support from a robust team of 12 SLPs, special educators, paraprofessionals, and additional assistants.
Seeking a professional who holds an SLP-CCC and has school-based experience. While experience in feeding and swallowing (safe eating) and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) is preferred, training is available for the right candidate eager to expand their skill set. This assignment begins September 8, 2026, and concludes June 17, 2027, for 40 hours per week, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
- SLP-CCC and previous school-based experience required
- Experience in feeding/swallowing (safe eating) and AAC preferred; training available
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Flexibility to alternate between two distinct campuses weekly
- Passion for supporting students in life skills and socialization programs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students in both special education and general settings
- Collaborate with SLPs, SPED, para-educators, and other team members
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and maintain required documentation
- Participate in virtual and monthly team support sessions
- Commit fully to onsite, in-person services
