Required Skills and Desired Background:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current or pending ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility
- Illinois SLP licensure (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience or strong interest in school-based settings
- Proficiency in providing pediatric speech and language therapy
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams, families, and caregivers
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings for students
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in collaboration with teachers and other staff
- Deliver direct speech therapy services and document progress
- Consult with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide strategies and support for student success
- Contribute to assessments and meetings as required by the school or district
- Maintain accurate and compliant therapy records
