Bring your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist to help students thrive across two high schools and one elementary campus. This contract opportunity offers a unique blend of working environments: half of the week is dedicated to supporting students with special education needs at one campus, and the other half focuses on building communication and social skills at a second location. The assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through June 17, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours each week.
You’ll serve approximately 33 students, especially those enrolled in life skills programming. While experience in feeding and swallowing (safe eating) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is valued, comprehensive training is available for motivated candidates seeking to develop these skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Speech-Language Pathology license, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- School-based SLP experience strongly preferred
- Background supporting special education and life skills students is advantageous
- Willingness to learn and grow in AAC and feeding/swallowing therapy
- Enthusiastic about working independently with in-person support from paraprofessionals, special educators, and assistants
- Comfortable navigating multiple school environments within one workweek
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with on-site educational staff, support teams, and a virtual SLP cohort (monthly meetings)
- Carry out evaluations, develop IEPs, and implement individualized treatment plans
- Support safe eating programs and develop AAC strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with staff and families
