Role Overview
Are you a passionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) looking for a rewarding position in the Chiefland, Florida area? A supportive local school district is currently hiring dedicated SLPs to join their collaborative special education team for the upcoming school year.
In this role, you will work closely with educators, administrators, and families to help students reach their academic, social, and communication goals in an inclusive learning environment. Both experienced SLPs and Clinical Fellows (CFYs) are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications & Requirements
State Licensure: Active Florida Speech Language Pathologist license and required state school credentials.
Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Experience: Previous school-based special education or pediatric clinical experience preferred.
Core Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, team collaboration, and student engagement strategies.
References: Positive professional references from the past two years.
Key Responsibilities
IEP Development & Management: Design, implement, and track individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to speech and language goals.
Direct Intervention: Provide specialized speech-language therapy and instruction in alignment with state standards and student needs.
Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student communication skills, maintain detailed documentation, and track ongoing progress.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and parents to support holistic student growth.
Compliance & Advocacy: Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team evaluations, and adhere to Virginia state and federal special education regulations.
Positive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive and engaging therapeutic atmosphere for students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
