The assignment runs from August 17th through May 28th, offering 37.5 hours per week immersed in a collaborative and supportive educational community.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA required
- Illinois state licensure as an SLP
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with experience serving bilingual populations
- Previous clinical or school-based experience with early childhood or preschool-aged children strongly preferred
- Proficiency in conducting both assessment and therapy in Spanish and English
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Passion for helping children improve their communication abilities in diverse settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to early childhood students in both Spanish and English
- Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to create individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Conduct bilingual evaluations and ongoing assessments to help identify students’ needs
- Develop and implement targeted therapy plans, track progress, and maintain thorough documentation
- Engage families in the therapy process to support carryover strategies at home and in the classroom
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
