School Speech Language Pathologist - Canton, Michigan
Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity providing speech-language pathology services across four diverse educational environments. This contract role offers the chance to make a significant impact on students’ communication skills and academic success within general and special education settings. You’ll be able to collaborate with a variety of grade levels and programs, gaining valuable experience across multiple age groups and learning environments.
Your daily responsibilities will rotate among four buildings serving students from early elementary through high school:
- Support general education students in grades 3-5.
- Provide services for K-8 learners, with the possibility of working with preschool and high school populations.
- Serve students participating in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairment (CI) programs, as well as general education, at both middle and high school levels.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility
- State licensure (or eligibility) for school-based practice
- Experience with both general education and specialized populations (ASD, CI) preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt quickly between multiple settings and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and provide evidence-based therapy to meet IEP goals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Develop individualized service plans and monitor progress
- Consult with educators and families to foster communication growth in diverse learning environments
- Manage travel between sites and adjust to varied caseloads and needs
