Speech Language Pathologist in Belvidere, IL
Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting young learners as a Speech Language Pathologist in a vibrant educational environment. This full-time, contract opportunity involves working 37.5 hours per week throughout the school year in a welcoming setting. Three positions are currently available, with caseloads in either elementary or early childhood. Orientation begins August 3, with students starting August 11 and the assignment running through May 28.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Illinois state license as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois or eligibility to obtain before the assignment starts
- Open to SLPs with CCC or CFY qualifications
- Experience in schools, or a strong interest in gaining experience in school settings
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to manage a student caseload and maintain organized, timely documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students in either elementary or early childhood caseloads
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized plans, and monitor progress for assigned students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families
- Contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state and district guidelines
- Deliver engaging, student-centered interventions aimed at improving communication skills
