A rewarding opportunity awaits for a Speech-Language Pathologist seeking to serve K-12 students in a vibrant Upstate New York community for the 2025–2026 school year. This contract role centers on working primarily with elementary students, while also providing services to a select group of high school students. You’ll support the academic and communication growth of students by collaborating closely with educators, families, and other specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify areas of need.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for a caseload of approximately 28 students.
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy, adapting techniques to suit each student’s abilities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to apply appropriate classroom accommodations and modifications.
- Track progress diligently, documenting outcomes and adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Participate fully in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to goal development and planning.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing relevant guidance and resources.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active state SLP license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred.
- Ability to participate as a cooperative team member within a dynamic educational environment.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, special education regulations, and best practices in therapy.
This position follows the academic calendar, offering scheduled school hours and breaks throughout the year. You’ll enjoy guaranteed work hours, and competitive hourly pay ranging from $48 to $58 per hour.
