Pediatric Early Childhood School Speech Language Pathologist - Chicago, IL
Seeking an experienced and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist eager to make a meaningful impact in school settings near Chicago, IL. This contract position offers 37.5 hours per week, serving primarily Early Childhood and elementary-aged students in a dynamic, bilingual (Spanish-English) environment. The structure may be itinerant, with responsibilities spanning between 1-2 schools to address diverse student needs.
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License with SLP (Speech-Language Pathologist) endorsement
- Valid Illinois SLP license
- Fluency in Spanish and English required
- Previous experience working in pediatric, early childhood, or elementary school settings preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches for a variety of student backgrounds and needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in Early Childhood and elementary programs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments to identify communication disorders and needs
- Effectively communicate progress and strategies with educators, families, and related service providers
- Manage a flexible caseload, which may involve travel between 1-2 school sites
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA and state-specific guidelines
