Speech Language Pathologist in Amherst, MA
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving K-12 students across a district near Amherst, MA. This position supports the academic and communication needs of students by providing expert speech-language services. The assignment is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and extends through June 15, 2027, offering both full-time and part-time consideration based on your availability and fit.
You will collaborate closely with a team of SLPAs who handle a majority of direct interventions, allowing you to focus on comprehensive evaluations, crafting detailed reports, and actively participating in IEP meetings. Caseloads are split across elementary, middle, and high school students, providing a diverse and dynamic clinical experience throughout the district.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Massachusetts certification as an SLP with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Experience or comfort working with K-12 student populations
- Ability to manage districtwide caseloads and multiple grade levels
- Strong skills in assessment, documentation, and IEP compliance
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork for student success
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough speech-language assessments and evaluations
- Prepare and present reports at IEP meetings
- Oversee and collaborate with SLPAs for the delivery of student services
- Provide targeted direct therapy when needed
- Engage with teachers, staff, and families to support educational goals
