School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Algonquin, Illinois
Make a difference as a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (Spanish) supporting students across communities in the Northwestern Illinois region. This contract opportunity runs from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering the chance to provide essential speech and language services in a diverse school setting. You’ll enjoy full-time hours (37.5 per week), with specific school placements to be determined based on student needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Illinois PEL with Speech-Language endorsement and Illinois State License (IDFPR)
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English required
- Certification as CCC-SLP preferred; strong new graduates (CF-SLPs) also encouraged to apply
- Previous school-based SLP experience a plus
- SLP-Assistants (SLP-As) considered only if specifically noted
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, individualized speech and language therapy to students ranging in age and need
- Assess, diagnose, and develop IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Document student progress and maintain timely, accurate records
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with families and school staff regarding student progress and intervention strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning activities
- Support a positive, inclusive school environment for students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
